We are seeking experienced Graduate Teaching Assistants for full-time, long-term roles in secondary schools across Camden, starting asap. Ideal candidates will have prior experience supporting children and young people and demonstrate confidence in managing behaviour. Experience in a school environment, or as a youth worker or mentor, would be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities of Graduate Teaching Assistant include:
- Working proactively to help students achieve their attainment levels.
- Encouraging students to engage proactively with their learning.
- Help create a positive classroom environment by reinforcing school rules and promoting positive behaviour.
- Helping to provide a safe environment for children to learn.
- Assisting the teacher in areas also including behaviour management, consistently promoting positive behaviour, and in assisting with their general learning and development.
You will:
- Be educated to degree level in any subject area
- Have previous support work experience within a school or other child related experience.
- Have strong Behaviour management techniques.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and a professional and friendly approach.
- Have experience or knowledge within special educational needs.
- Secondary experience preferred but not essential.
