Job Advert: Site Supervisor - Primary School in Burnley
We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy Site Supervisor to join our primary school in Burnley. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running and maintenance of the school premises.
Position: Site Supervisor Location: Burnley Hours: 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Monday to Friday) Contract Type: Temporary
Role Overview:
As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for locking and unlocking the school site, ensuring the safety and security of the premises. You will also carry out a variety of grounds maintenance and caretaking duties to ensure the school environment remains safe, clean, and welcoming for staff, students, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Locking and unlocking the school site at the beginning and end of the day
- Acting as a keyholder and ensuring the security of the premises
- Performing general grounds maintenance tasks, including litter picking, grass cutting, and tidying outdoor areas
- Undertaking caretaking duties such as cleaning and basic repairs
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Reporting any issues or maintenance needs to the relevant authorities
- Managing school waste disposal and ensuring proper storage of equipment and materials
Person Specification:
- Proven track record of reliability and trustworthiness, particularly in roles involving keyholding and site security
- Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or facilities management role (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to site maintenance
- Good physical fitness and the ability to carry out manual tasks
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with staff and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
