Job Advertisement: Year 3 Behaviour / Emotional Support Assistant
Location: LancasterPosition: Part-time (5 days a week)Hours: 11:30 AM - 3:15 PM
We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Year 3 Behaviour/Emotional Support Assistant to join our team. This role focuses on providing one-to-one support to a child, helping to manage emotional and behavioural challenges while fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to a Year 3 student, focusing on behaviour and emotional needs.
- Lead and manage play during playtimes and lunchtimes, ensuring positive engagement and interaction (not just supervision).
- Diffuse challenging behaviour using effective strategies and techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor progress and adapt support as needed.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes emotional well-being.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, particularly in behaviour or emotional support roles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and diffuse challenging behaviour.
- A compassionate approach to supporting children's emotional needs.
