We are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic History Teacher to join one of our partner schools in the Kirklees area.
Role Overview:
As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A-level students. The ideal candidate will have a strong subject knowledge and a passion for bringing history to life in the classroom. You will inspire a love of learning, foster critical thinking, and help students develop a deeper understanding of historical events and their significance in shaping the world today.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Create a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school's policies.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including participating in extra-curricular activities and events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- A degree in History or a related subject.
- Experience teaching History at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (experience at Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential).
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
