We are seeking a dedicated Complex Care Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in supporting our exceptional students. As a Complex Care Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalized care and educational support to students with complex needs, ensuring their well-being, development, and inclusion within our school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored care and support to students with high-level needs and PMLD, promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life.
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans and therapeutic interventions, working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create engaging and accessible learning activities, adapting materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, behaviors, and achievements, contributing to comprehensive assessment and reporting processes.
  • Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with complex needs, preferably within a school or care setting.
  • Understanding of PMLD and associated challenges, with a compassionate and patient approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive attitude towards overcoming obstacles and meeting the evolving needs of our students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education, care, or related fields (desirable but not essential).
